140 Years Of Education
On Friday 17th of November our school celebrated 140 years of education. Throughout the day the pupils and staff re-lived life in the 1800's as a tribute to those gone before us. There was a history museum in the school hall featuring old textbooks and items used in the 1800's, including a barrel of turf.

Brigid Feehan gave a demonstration to sixth class in how to bake brown bread both on the griddle and in the oven.

The day ended with a Mass of Celebration in St. Cronan's Church, at which the celebrant was Dr. Willie Walsh who was joined by Rev. Fr. Tom Corbett, PP Rev Fr. Tony Cahir, PP. Birr, Rev. Fr. Michael Collins, former PP, Fr Michael Harding CC and lay diocesan reader Mr. Adrian Hewson.

Following the celebration the gathering moved down to the Damer Court Hotel for a night of further celebration and the launch of Patricia O' Meara Gleeson's book "Memories Never Fade".
