ICT WEEK June 8th - 12th
We proudly present our ICT Week this week. All of us will have hands on the amazing technology currently available in our school. Interactive white boards, laptops, digital cameras, video cameras, microphones and webcams will be used to have great fun this week. Watch this space!!!

Sports Week May 19th - May 23rd
Scoil Iosef Naofa celebrates Sports Week this week and we have an exciting and varied programme of activities for the whole school to enjoy. Children from all classes will be playing sports and having fun this week.
Sports Day 09
On Thursday 28th of May we had our annual Sports Day. There were many activities to enjoy including obstacle course, egg and spoon races, three legged races, a BBQ, penalty shoot out and our fabulous water slide. Highlight of the day had to be the soccer match versus the teachers.

European Online Magazine
Fifth and sixth class are working with other European Partner Schools to design an online European magazine. This magazine is a celebration of everything European and is published every month.

Visit to Coolmore Stud 23/04/09
On Thursday 23rd of April the whole school visited Coolmore Stud on the outskirts of Fethard, Co. Tipperary. A great day was had by everyone and we are very grateful to the staff at Collmore for their excellent welcome and hospitality.
Award of Science Excellence 2009
Ms. Flynn is currently working with 4th class to conduct experiments and to report on same in a professional and scientific manner. Our work will be exhibited during an Open Day to be held after Easter. Watch this space!!!

Parents Association
Many thanks to our Parents Association which kindly presented a cheque for 1,160 euro to our school for our new computer lab. Pictured here with children from fifth and sixth class are Marie Morgan, Mia Hanly and Michelle Maher. Thanks to everyone involved for their invaluable support throughout the year.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
Bhí an spórt againn an tseachtain seo. Bhí gach duine ag caint as Gaeilge ar scoil agus sa bhaile lena tuismitheoirí. Bhuaigh na daltaí duaiseanna sna comórtais éagsúla.
World Book Week
World Book Week was celebrated recently in Corville and all children read a lot of books courtesy of our "Book Fair". A competition was held where childern had to design an electronic gift card and here are the winners.
1st class cooking??????
Ms. Scott and the children of 1st class are preparing scrumptious meals in their classroom. Tá ocras ar an bhfear seo!!!
College 4 Kids
Our 5th and 6th classes have just completed an intensive 5 week course in the College 4 Kids Programme hosted by the Tipperary Institute, Thurles. During this time the children participated in various worshops i.e. Marketing, French, Visual Arts, Music and Photoshop so that they could taste College life in a Third Level environment. We are deeply grateful to the Access Office, Tipperary Institute and all lecturers who voluntered to host these educational workshops. Go raibh maith agaibh !!!
Paired Reading
Our sixth class and Junior Infant class come together three times a week with the older children reading nursery rhymes to the younger children
"The Big Sing"
Schools all over Ireland took part in the recent Big Sing. The event was in aid of Childline and Special Olympics Ireland.
Readathon 08
Our children collected participated in the MS Readathon from October 17th to November 17th. A total of 876 were read during the month. 2,341 euro was raised through sponsorship to help people with Multiple Sclerosis.
Advent 08
The season of Advent is fast approaching. In preperation 5th and 6th class under the guidance of Ms. Fitzpatrick have made a beautiful wreath which will be blessed and then displayed in the School Hall for the duration of Advent.

Halloween Madness in Scoil Iosef Naofa
We are all gone mad here in Scoil Iosef Naofa. Our boys and girls are all gone and we have witches, ghosts and goblins in their place .. AAAAAGGGGHHHH
Green Flag Award
Congratulations Scoil Iosef Naofa. Last Friday two members of our Green Flag Committee went to Dublin to collect our Green Flag.
Etwinning
We are currently twinned with a Portugeuse Primary School: Escola E B 2/3 de Alvarelhos. Our children communicate using cutting edge ICT technologies i.e. Skype, Moodle and Video Animation
